A little side project of mine...
This past year the number of stray cats around the mobile home park that I live really started to bother me. We kept feeding them but more just kept appearing. I'd heard of neighbors trapping them and dropping them off on farms and what not, but still there was a lot of cats! So I posted an ad on Craigslist asking for helping finding these guys homes and possibly raising the money to get some of them spayed and neutered. Well nothing happen for several weeks...then I got a phone call from a lady named Robin. I do believe she was an Angel sent to help me. She's provided me with the traps to catch the cats, and when I catch one, I call her. She will come pick the cat up and then take it to be spayed or neutered the following Friday morning. She does this all out of her pocket! She doesn't ask for anything in return. I don't think I could be much luckier here! While she's caring for them, in the mean time I try my hardest to find each one a home...which is easier said then done! Please if you have a cat or dog, have them fixed! Most areas provide low cost clinics that are run by everyday certified vets who normally charge $100+ for the same procedure. In Lebanon, PA I know of 2 clinics that run I believe every Friday, a male is $30 and a female is $35 to have them fixed!! You can even get their rabies AND distemper for $18!! There is no excuse to let cats out that are capable of reproducing, not only is it irresponsible but think of those poor little kittens being outside in the extreme heat or cold...wondering what they ever did to deserve that.
Anyway my point is not to guilt people, but to show off the handsome boys and pretty girls we have rescued...and also a place to give the special people who have helped us, a meaningful thank you.

This was the first cat we caught, it was 12/14/11 when the trap shut. I wasn't sure at first who this was, but I just recently compared her to other pictures and I found out its someone's pet from the trailer court. They had moved out and left their cat and dog to fend for themselves. We managed to get the dog out but the cat disappeared. Well low and behold the first one we caught and homed, was her. She went to her new home 12/21/11.
This is Ferocious!! His bulky appearance and the fluff around his head, almost like a mane, just made him look big and bad....but when you got a hold of him you realized you had a big ol' baby on your hands! He was trapped on the 12/28/11 and went to his new home with Eric and his wife on 01/05/12!
This is Angel, she was trapped on 01/04/12. She goes to her new home on 01/14/12. We wish her the best of luck! She will always hold a special place in my heart. In my all my years of dealing with animals, I've never seen a cat that was so trusting of humans and craved nothing but human companionship.
Want To Help Kitties Just Like This?
I recently found a program through Purina that allows me to exchange the "weight circles" from their pet food packaging for vouchers for some much of a bag of cat food, and money off pet items and vet bills! If you buy either Purina DOG or CAT food, please check the sides of the bag for the weight circle. If you cut these out and save them for us, it would be a HUGE HELP! This is a wonderful way to help out the cats without spending a dime out of pocket. I will even send you a self addressed stamped envelope for you to return the weight circles to us! Please use the form below to contact us about this program! Thank you so much!
